Director of the Department of Endocrinology at Renji Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. Earned a Ph.D. in Endocrinology and Metabolism from the University of Adelaide, Australia. Completed visiting fellowships at the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, Metabolism, and Nutrition at Mayo Clinic, USA, and the Texas Diabetes Center, USA. Has long been dedicated to clinical diagnosis and treatment of metabolic diseases such as diabetes and obesity, as well as research in gastrointestinal function and energy metabolism, and big data analysis. In recent years, particularly focused on clinical and basic research of obesity and related reproductive/metabolic abnormalities, advocating for multidisciplinary life-cycle management of obesity led by endocrinology. Led the establishment of the Obesity Multidisciplinary Diagnosis and Treatment Platform at Renji Hospital and an obesity cohort of thousands of patients, among which the multidisciplinary joint clinic for metabolic-associated fatty liver disease serves over a thousand patient visits annually. --- Awarded the 4th "Benevolent Physician" Shanghai Outstanding Specialist Physician Award, selected for the "Double Hundred Talents Program of Plateau and Peak" by the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, the Shanghai Pujiang Talent Program, and the Leading Talent Program of Minhang District, Shanghai. --- Responsible for research projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Ministry of Education, the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission, and others.
