M.D., Ph.D. Supervisor, Second-Grade Professor of Surgery Director of the Cancer Center, Director of the Shanghai Key Laboratory of Tumor System Regulation and Clinical Translation (under preparation), Deputy Director of the National Key Laboratory of Tumor Systems Medicine Professor Liu Yingbin has long been engaged in clinical and basic research in biliary and pancreatic surgery, with particular expertise in standardized surgical resection and comprehensive treatment of gallbladder cancer, intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma, hilar cholangiocarcinoma, and pancreatic cancer. Professor Liu Yingbin is a national-level high-caliber talent, a young and middle-aged expert with outstanding contributions to the National Health and Family Planning Commission, an expert receiving special government allowances from the State Council, a Shanghai Science and Technology Elite, a Shanghai Craftsman, a Shanghai Outstanding Academic Leader, a Shanghai Leading Talent, and a Foreign Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). He has received honors including the National "May 1st" Labor Medal, National Medical Ethics Model, "Bethune-Style" Good Doctor, Shanghai Benevolent Physician Award, Shanghai "May 1st" Labor Medal, Shanghai Jiao Tong University President's Award, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University Outstanding Communist Party Member. He serves in academic positions including Standing Committee Member of the Surgical Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, Vice Chairman of the Surgery Branch of the Shanghai Medical Association, Chairman-Designate of the General Surgery Specialty Branch of the Shanghai Medical Association, President of the Surgical Branch of the Shanghai Medical Doctor Association, Vice Chairman of the Shanghai Anti-Cancer Association, Standing Committee Member of the Pancreatic Professional Committee of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association, Vice Chairman of the Biliary Tract Professional Committee of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association, and Vice Chairman of the Hepatobiliary-Pancreatic Surgery and Pancreatic Disease Professional Committees of the Chinese Research Hospital Association. Professor Liu Yingbin has practiced medicine and taught for 38 years, focusing on clinical and basic research in biliary and pancreatic surgery. He has achieved a series of surgical technological innovations and research breakthroughs, effectively improving the radical surgical resection rate and postoperative survival rate of patients with biliary and pancreatic diseases. He has systematically revealed the important pathogenesis of gallbladder cancer, proposed precise diagnostic and therapeutic targets, and led multiple national multicenter clinical studies, advancing the precise diagnosis and treatment of gallbladder cancer and promoting the clinical application of related drugs. He was the first in China to propose the concept of total mesenteric excision for pancreatic head cancer; he established the largest multicenter single-disease database for gallbladder cancer in China, guiding and standardizing the diagnosis and treatment of gallbladder cancer patients. He was the first internationally to systematically reveal the somatic mutation landscape and key tumor driver genes and signaling pathways (ErbB signaling pathway) associated with gallbladder cancer, deepening the understanding of the mechanisms of gallbladder cancer development and progression, with the article published in Nature Genetics (IF=27.9). He also took the lead in constructing a lymphatic metastasis model of gallbladder cancer and obtained a gallbladder cancer cell line with high lymphatic metastasis potential, GBC-SD/HL. Related research findings have been published in mainstream international SCI journals including Nature Genetics, Journal of Hepatology, and Gut, and he has obtained more than 10 national invention patents. As the first完成人, he has received the First Prize of the Huaxia Medical Science and Technology Award, the First Prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award of the Ministry of Education, the First Prize of the Natural Science Award of Higher Education Institutions of the Ministry of Education, the Second Prize of the Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award, the 19th Wu Jieping-Paul Janssen Medical and Pharmaceutical Award, the 12th "WuXi AppTec Life Chemistry Research Award," and the First Prize of the Shanghai Science and Technology Natural Science Award.
