Peking University International Hospital · Cardiac Surgery · Professor

Professor and Chief Physician at Beijing Fuwai Hospital, a doctoral supervisor specializing in aortic surgery. He pioneered small upper sternal incisions, adventitial inversion for aortic sinus repair (adopted by 40+ centers), and a novel valve-sparing root replacement measurement method. He developed integrated ascending-arch-descending repair, reducing mortality from 17.4% to 9.2% and stroke from 2.8% to 0%. He also created normothermic off-pump thoracoabdominal aortic replacement, lowering mo

With over 30 years of experience in cardiac and aortic surgery, I have performed more than 12,000 cardiac macrovascular surgeries as the lead surgeon, and complete over 600 cardiovascular surgeries annually. As a cardiovascular surgery training mentor, I have cultivated cardiovascular surgical talents for cardiac macrovascular surgery centers across the country. My personal surgical success rate has reached 99.5%. I enjoy special government allowances from the State Council and have been honored

Personal Resume Professor, Doctor of Medicine, Chief Physician, Doctoral Supervisor Former Deputy Director of the Vascular Surgery Center and Director of Ward 3 of the Vascular Center at Beijing Fuwai Hospital The director has focused on promoting innovation in the theory and techniques of aortic surgery and has innovatively proposed multiple optimized treatment strategies for aortic surgery, mainly achieving the following outstanding results: 1. Created a series of new surgical procedures for aortic surgery and developed related medical devices, improving overall treatment outcomes. Took the lead in China in applying a small upper sternal incision for aortic surgery. This reduces the incidence of sternal infection and poor healing, alleviates patients' pain symptoms, increases comfort, and simultaneously saves patients' medical costs. 2. First in China to apply the adventitial inversion technique to repair the aortic sinus, ensuring the stability of the anastomosis. This better controls long-term dilation of the root and maintains the stability of the root structure. At present, the adventitial inversion technique for repairing the aortic sinus has been promoted in more than 40 cardiovascular surgery centers nationwide. 3. Internationally adopted an innovative measurement method for aortic valve-sparing root replacement surgery: for the first time, the size of the artificial blood vessel was selected based on the minimum geometric height of the aortic valve, achieving very good clinical results, and the related research results were presented at the Aortic Forum of the 102nd Annual Meeting of the American Association for Thoracic Surgery (AATS). 4. First to systematically propose integrated ascending-arch-descending repair technology: for total aortic arch replacement surgery in elderly patients, hybrid technology was used to achieve integrated ascending-arch-descending repair by combining the advantages of endovascular treatment and surgical treatment. It does not require deep hypothermic circulatory arrest, and shortens cardiopulmonary bypass time and aortic cross-clamp time, reducing intraoperative blood loss and perioperative blood transfusion. Surgical mortality decreased from 17.4% with the traditional total arch procedure to 9.2%, and the incidence of stroke decreased from 2.8% to 0%. 5. First in China to develop normothermic off-pump segmental clamping thoracoabdominal aortic replacement: innovatively applied normothermic autologous arterial shunt segmental clamping technology, avoiding deep hypothermic circulatory arrest and greatly reducing the impact on patients' coagulation function and abdominal organ function. Postoperative mortality decreased from 6.9% to 0%. 6. World's first aortic medical device "integrated artificial blood vessel." It greatly shortens circulatory arrest time and relieves surgeons of the hemostasis difficulties caused by anastomotic bleeding, achieving a dual reduction in surgical risk and difficulty. 7. Explored risk factors for poor prognosis of aortic dissection and proposed that ascending aortic length is an indication for surgical intervention in aortic aneurysm; first proposed that ascending aortic length is a reliable indicator for surgical intervention in ascending aortic aneurysm: in cooperation with the Yale Aortic Center, based on the three-dimensional structure of the aorta, jointly proposed that an ascending aortic length greater than 11 cm can be used as an indication for intervention in ascending aortic aneurysm, providing a more precise surgical standard for aortic aneurysm intervention. 8. Establishment and promotion of a precise diagnosis and treatment system for aortic dissection: first proposed the Fuwai classification of aortic dissection: the Fuwai classification is a summary and supplement to traditional classification methods, systematically and concisely clarifying the extent involved by the dissection, and facilitating the unification of research and treatment of aortic dissection. This classification system has been adopted by many hospitals nationwide and has clear guiding and promotional significance for the treatment of aortic dissection. 9. First in China to establish a national database for type A aortic dissection: since 2015, a national multicenter aortic dissection database has been established, including 10 aortic centers nationwide, establishing a national multicenter collaborative network, filling the gap in large-scale clinical data on aortic dissection in China, and laying the foundation for guiding the clinical diagnosis and treatment of aortic dissection in China. Honors and Awards 1998 "Results and High-Risk Factor Analysis of Radical Repair in Children with Tetralogy of Fallot Aged 3 Months to 5 Years" Second Prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award of the Ministry of Health 1999 "Clinical Study on Improving the Efficacy of Radical Repair for Tetralogy of Fallot and Analysis of High-Risk Factors" Third Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award 2002 "Clinical and Experimental Research on Improving the Surgical Efficacy of Severe Congenital Heart Disease in Infants and Young Children" Second Prize of the Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award 2004 "Clinical and Basic Series Research on Improving the Surgical Efficacy of Severe Congenital Heart Disease in Infants and Young Children" Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award 2008 "Research on New Strategies for the Treatment of Aortic Dissection" First Prize of the Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award 2009 "Applied Research on Innovative Techniques for Surgical Treatment of Stanford Type A Aortic Dissection" First Prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award of the Ministry of Education 2009 "Research and Application of New Strategies for the Treatment of Aortic Dissection" Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award 2022 "Key Innovative Technologies and Clinical Applications in the Surgical Diagnosis and Treatment of Aortic Diseases" Second Prize of the Beijing Science and Technology Progress Award 2023 "Key Innovative Technologies and Clinical Applications in the Surgical Diagnosis and Treatment of Aortic Diseases" Third Prize of the Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award
