Director Physician, Department of Cardiovascular Surgery, Renji Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine Engaged in extracorporeal circulation and assisted circulation for over 20 years, established and improved the institutional protocols and technical standards for extracorporeal circulation in the department, and actively expanded the application of extracorporeal circulation technology in other surgical fields, such as tracheal carinal tumor surgery, inferior vena cava tumor thrombectomy for renal cell carcinoma, skull base giant aneurysm surgery, liver transplantation, and hyperthermic chemotherapy for malignant lung tumors. In 2015, co-participated in compiling and publishing the first national professional technical standard — Quality Control and Management Standards for Extracorporeal Circulation. Since 2003, pioneered the application of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) technology in various critically ill patients, with over 300 clinical cases to date, successfully rescuing patients including those with severe cardiogenic shock after cardiac surgery, cardiogenic shock after acute myocardial infarction, fulminant myocarditis, immune-mediated cardiomyopathy, pulmonary artery embolism, peripartum pulmonary hypertension crisis, severe respiratory distress syndrome associated with post-COVID-19 or immune diseases, sepsis, and cardiac arrest patients undergoing cardiopulmonary resuscitation for up to 200 minutes, and successfully used as a bridge for heart and lung transplantation or for donor organ protection. During the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, led the Shanghai ECMO team as team leader to Wuhan Leishenshan Hospital to participate in pandemic response; during the 2022 Shanghai pandemic, again went to designated hospitals for work. Mainly participated in the formulation of professional quality control standards, organized and participated in professional quality control supervision, including extracorporeal circulation and extracorporeal life support technology. Participated in the compilation of more than 10 professional books and textbooks, such as "Cardiac Assisted Circulation," "Cardiovascular Surgery," "Cardiovascular Anesthesiology," "Intensive Care Technology," etc., authored and published multiple related articles, and participated in the completion of multiple research project applications and implementations. Previously participated in receiving the Shanghai Medical Science and Technology Award, Second Prize, and obtained approval for two patent applications.
