Researcher and doctoral supervisor in the Department of Anesthesiology at Renji Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, Distinguished Professor of the Shanghai Oriental Scholar Program, and Chief Scientist of the National Key R&D Program. In the field of liver disease, he led the research and development team to establish and identify the cell type "Induced Progenitor-like Cells (iPLC)" for the first time internationally, pioneering a new regenerative medicine concept of activating the body's "developmental regeneration" through iPLC to promote tissue regeneration and repair, and successfully applied this platform technology in liver scientific research and cell therapy. As corresponding author or first author, he has published 30 papers in journals such as Science Translational Medicine, Cell Research, and Journal of Hepatology, with a total impact factor of 280 and over 2,000 citations. He has presided over multiple projects including topics of the 13th Five-Year National Key R&D Program, special topics of the National 863 Program, and projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. As the second contributor, he received the Second Prize of the National Natural Science Award and the First Prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award of the Ministry of Education, and was honored with the first "Pudong New Area Science and Technology Elite" and other honors.
