M.D., Second-Class Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, Director of the Department of Laboratory Medicine, Renji Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. Recognized as a Shanghai Leading Talent, among other honors. From 2005 to 2008, worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the United States and received the "Fellows Award for Research Excellence of National Institutes of Health." His main research focuses on the needs for prevention, diagnosis, and control of clinically important pathogens, elucidating novel mechanisms of epidemic pathogenesis and host defense, and on this basis developing new strategies for practical clinical prevention, diagnosis, and control. As first or corresponding author, he has published more than 90 peer-reviewed research articles in international professional SCI journals such as Nat Med, Nat Microbiol, and Cell Host Microbe. His research achievements won the Second Prize of the 2018 National Science and Technology Progress Award (third contributor). He has presided over 11 National Natural Science Foundation of China projects (including 4 international cooperation projects) and has been granted 8 national invention patents. He served as editor-in-chief of the national higher medical education planned textbook Clinical Microbiology Laboratory (4th and 5th editions); editor-in-chief of Molecular Diagnostic Techniques and Clinical Applications, and Clinical Laboratory 10,000 Whys - Pathogen Laboratory Volume, etc.
