M.D., Ph.D., Professor, Chief Physician, Doctoral/Postdoctoral Supervisor Currently Director of the Department of Orthopedics and Director of the Spine Surgery Department at Renji Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine Expertise With 30 years of experience in clinical practice, medical education, and research, dedicated to the early diagnosis and precise treatment of cervical spine disorders, with particular expertise in robot-assisted intelligent precision minimally invasive spine surgery, ranking among the top in the country in surgical volume, and was awarded the "Top Ten Individuals in Clinical Application" by the Orthopedic Surgical Robot Application Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the National Health Commission in 2019. Has extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of cervical spondylosis, cervical spine trauma, cervical spine tumors, and cervical spine deformities, cervical minimally invasive surgery, and cervical revision surgery; as well as in the surgical treatment of lumbar disc herniation, lumbar spondylolisthesis, scoliosis deformity, and spinal tumors. Completed two years of advanced clinical training at the Spine Center of the University of Washington School of Medicine and the world's only Institute for Cervical Spine Surgery, studying under internationally renowned dedicated cervical spine surgery expert Professor Riew and spinal deformity expert Professor Lenke. Proficient in the diagnosis and treatment of cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine diseases, with a primary focus on cervical spine disorders; particularly rich clinical experience in complex cases such as advanced severe cervical spondylosis in elderly patients, cervical deformities, and revision surgery for recurrence after cervical spine surgery. Strictly adheres to surgical indications and actively promotes minimally invasive spine surgical techniques. Meanwhile, employs new technologies such as robot-assisted surgery and alternative bone grafting to reduce cervical spine surgical trauma, lower cervical spine surgical risks, improve cervical spine surgical outcomes, and shorten postoperative recovery time. Research Achievements As principal investigator, has undertaken multiple national and provincial/ministerial-level research projects, including four National Natural Science Foundation of China projects, the Shanghai Shenkang Development Center Joint Research Project, the Shanghai Health and Family Planning Commission Special Research Project, the Shanghai Science and Technology Commission Key Project, and the Shanghai Jiao Tong University Medical-Engineering Cross Key Project. The main research direction focuses on basic and clinical research of cervical spondylosis.
