Specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of complex and intractable diseases in otorhinolaryngology, such as otitis media, head and facial tumors, including surgical procedures for thyroid tumors and systematic postoperative management. Graduated from Shanghai Second Medical University with a Bachelor of Medicine in 1990, was directly admitted to the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at Renji Hospital affiliated with the same university for a master's degree and stayed to work in the department, and obtained a Doctor of Medicine degree in 2007. Qualified as a Chief Physician in 2005, and is currently a Chief Physician in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at Renji Hospital affiliated with Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. Has long been engaged in clinical practice, scientific research, and teaching in otorhinolaryngology. While comprehensively coordinating the diagnosis and treatment of otorhinolaryngological diseases, has conducted in-depth research in subspecialties. As an expert in the field of audiology, has mastered the frontiers of current basic research and clinical translation related to hearing. Has carried out a series of work in the pathogenesis and clinical practice of head and neck malignant tumors. The most important research findings include using the theory of molecular-level alterations and phenotypic changes to demonstrate the safe surgical margin range for malignant tumors such as laryngeal cancer, and that human papillomavirus is closely related to the occurrence of laryngeal cancer. In the diagnosis and treatment of sleep-related diseases such as snoring, keeps pace with the most advanced research findings and clinical applications. For certain complex chronic diseases in otorhinolaryngology such as pharyngitis, rhinitis, and tinnitus, classifies them according to etiology and pathology, establishes unique diagnostic and therapeutic approaches of subclinical same-symptom different-treatment, provides targeted treatment, and achieves good results. Was among the earlier in China to promote and apply minimally invasive surgery, enabling the relevant surgical time, blood loss, hospital stay, and healing rate to improve severalfold compared with traditional surgery, achieving minimal complications and maximum disease cure rate for patients. Has consistently maintained a high medical safety rate over more than thirty years of medical practice. In scientific research, has published more than 50 papers and participated in the compilation of 7 monographs.
