Research Work Graduated from the Department of Medicine at the Third Military Medical University of the People's Liberation Army in 1984 with a Bachelor of Medicine degree; graduated from the Graduate School of Peking University Health Science Center in 1991 with a Master of Medicine degree; graduated from the Graduate School of Jichi Medical University in Japan in 1996 with a Doctor of Medicine degree; completed postdoctoral research at Jichi Medical University in Japan in 1998 and returned to China. Currently serves as Vice President of Peking University Third Hospital and Director of the Department of Neurology, Research Fellow, Chief Physician, Professor, and Doctoral Supervisor; member of the Communist Party of China and member of the Chinese Peasants' and Workers' Democratic Party. Has been engaged in clinical practice, teaching, and research in neurology for 20 years. Over the past 5 years, has delivered professional theory courses in neurology to undergraduate students, 7-year and 8-year medical program students, and graduate students, with a total of more than 300 students across 5 cohorts. Has supervised and graduated 9 master's students and 11 doctoral students. Currently supervising 8 doctoral students and 1 in-service master's student. Has undertaken 4 educational reform projects at Peking University Third Hospital and Peking University Health Science Center. Awards Received the Third Prize for Outstanding Papers at the 7th National Medical Academic Exchange Conference of the Ministry of Health in 1992, the Third Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress from the Ministry of Health in 1995, the Outstanding Youth Award from the China Medical Foundation in 1999, the title of "Education Innovation Pioneer" of Beijing in 2002, the Outstanding Communist Party Member award for combating SARS from Peking University Health Science Center in 2003, the Higher Education Teaching Achievement Award from Peking University Health Science Center and the First Prize for Teaching Achievement from Peking University in 2005, and was selected for the Ministry of Education's "New Century Excellent Talents Support Program" in the same year. In 2006, received the "Yang Fuqing and Wang Yangyuan Academicians' Outstanding Teaching and Research Award" from Peking University and the title of "Outstanding Communist Party Member Model" from Peking University. In 2007, received the "Excellent Course" award from Peking University and the Peking University Outstanding Teacher Award for 2007.
