Professional Expertise Diagnosis and treatment of digestive system diseases, particularly Helicobacter pylori and related disorders, early endoscopic diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal tumors, and management of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Education and Professional Experience 1978–1982: Studied Clinical Medicine at Beijing Medical College. From 1982, served successively as Resident Physician, Attending Physician (1987), Associate Chief Physician (1992), and Chief Physician (1998) in the Department of Gastroenterology, Peking University Third Hospital. Pursued advanced studies at Juntendo University in Tokyo, Japan, the University of California Medical Center, USA, and the Endoscopy Center of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Served as Deputy Director of Medical Affairs from 1998 to 2003, Department Director from 2003 to 2018, and has served as Director of the Beijing Key Laboratory for Prevention and Research of Helicobacter pylori Infection and Upper Gastrointestinal Diseases since 2015. Research Work Has long been engaged in the diagnosis and treatment of digestive system diseases and digestive endoscopy. In 1991, pioneered endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) and endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) for early gastric cancer and precancerous lesions in China. In 1996, conducted population-based intervention trials on Helicobacter pylori and gastric cancer in a high-incidence area for gastric cancer in Shandong Province, and led the Eleventh Five-Year National Science and Technology Support Program project "Diagnosis and Treatment Standards for Helicobacter pylori-Related Diseases in China." Since 2003, has conducted in-depth research on gastroesophageal reflux disease, including epidemiology, magnifying endoscopy findings, and ultrastructural studies, and published China's first monograph on GERD, *Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease*. In 2021, led the formulation of the *Sixth National Consensus Report on the Management of Helicobacter pylori Infection (Non-Eradication Therapy Section)* and China's first *Chinese Guidelines for the Treatment of Helicobacter pylori Infection*, and participated in the development of the *Maastricht VI International Consensus Report on the Management of Helicobacter pylori Infection*. Research on the relationship between H. pylori and gastric cancer, H. pylori diagnosis and treatment, and GERD has been cited as level-one evidence in numerous domestic and international guidelines and consensus statements. Has led multiple projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and major projects of the Ministry of Education, and undertaken Eleventh and Twelfth Five-Year National Science and Technology Support Program projects. Holds six invention patents. Has supervised the graduation of over 40 doctoral students and over 10 master's students. Has published over 300 academic papers, including more than 40 SCI-indexed articles.
