He specializes in surgical treatment of various complex, intractable and high‑risk cardiovascular diseases, including minimally invasive repair and replacement of valvular heart disease, minimally invasive coronary artery bypass grafting, total aortic prosthetic vascular replacement, heart transplantation and artificial heart implantation. He has undertaken 15 research grants such as the National Science and Technology Key Projects of the 11th and 12th Five‑Year Plans, National Natural Science Foundation of China, Doctoral Program Foundation of the Ministry of Education, and Major Projects of Shanghai. He has won 1 Second‑Class Award of Chinese Medical Science and Technology, 3 Second‑Class Awards and 1 Third‑Class Award of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award. He has published more than 200 papers and obtained over 40 patents.
