He obtained his Bachelor’s degree from Taishan Medical College in 1986, Master of Medicine and Doctor of Medicine degrees from Shanghai Medical University (now Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University) in 1992 and 1996 respectively. Since 1992, he has been engaged in clinical work in the Department of Cardiology, Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University. At present, he is mainly responsible for the implantation and follow‑up of cardiac implantable devices as well as the administration of the Electrocardiogram Room at Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University. Under his leadership, the volume and quality of cardiac implantable device implantation have ranked second nationwide for consecutive years. He has repeatedly led the formulation of domestic industry standards for cardiac pacing, and is one of the leading figures in this field in China. He currently serves as Director of the Electrocardiogram Room, Professor of Cardiology, Chief Physician and Doctoral Supervisor at Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University. He has received numerous social honors for many consecutive years, including being listed on the Top 100 Famous Chinese Doctors List and the National Distinguished Doctor award. As the Principal Investigator (PI), he has completed and is undertaking several projects funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, General Programs of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and projects from the Shanghai Science and Technology Commission. He has led and participated in multiple domestic and international horizontal research projects related to cardiac pacing. As the first or corresponding author, he has published more than 200 papers and case reports on cardiac pacing, of which over 60 are SCI‑indexed articles. He is the chief editor of six monographs on cardiac pacing and holds more than ten patents related to cardiac pacing. As one of the key contributors, he has won many awards including the Second‑class National Award for Scientific and Technological Progress, Second‑class Award for Scientific and Technological Progress of Chinese Universities, Third‑class Award for Scientific and Technological Progress of the State Education Commission, Third‑class Award for Scientific and Technological Progress of the Ministry of Health, Second‑class Shanghai Municipal Award for Scientific and Technological Progress, and Second‑class Shanghai Medical Science and Technology Progress Award.
