Internationally, he was the first to report innovative minimally‑invasive techniques such as the application of 3D‑FIESTA MR sequences for evaluating midline skull‑base lesions, contralateral posterior interhemispheric trans‑falcine approach for trigone meningioma resection, combined endoscopic endonasal odontoidectomy with posterior decompression, reduction and fixation for basilar invagination, endoscopic endonasal lamina terminalis‑tuber cinereum approach for intra‑third‑ventricular craniopharyngioma resection, endoscopic far‑lateral SCITA for dumbbell‑shaped middle‑posterior‑fossa trigeminal schwannomas and craniopharyngiomas, pineal‑shifting resection for intra‑third‑ventricular tumors, and OTTA approach for third‑ and fourth‑ventricular tumor resection. He has actively promoted extracapsular pseudocapsule dissection for pituitary adenoma resection, which has markedly improved gross total resection rates and achieved internationally‑leading endocrine remission rates for GH‑secreting adenomas. He vigorously advocates, promotes and practices the full‑spectrum application of neuroendoscopic minimally‑invasive techniques in neurosurgery. He established China’s first fully‑endoscopic neurosurgery center and has popularized its demonstrative application across the country.
