Chief Physician, Professor, Doctoral Supervisor.He once served as Director of the Department of Dermatology, Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University (Acting Director: July 2000‑July 2002; Director: July 2002‑January 2020), and Deputy Director of the Department of Dermatology and Venereology, Shanghai Medical College, Fudan University (April 2002‑present). He obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Department of Dermatology, Huashan Hospital, Fudan University in his early years, and has been working at the Department of Dermatology, Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University ever since completing his doctoral studies. From 1997 to 1998, he conducted research on autoantibodies at the Center for Autoimmune Diseases, Scripps Research Institute, San Diego, USA. With 40 years of clinical practice in dermatology, he has long been engaged in medical service, teaching and research at the dermatology department of an affiliated medical‑university hospital. He possesses solid clinical expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of dermatoses and venereal diseases.He specializes in the diagnosis and management of autoimmune and allergic skin disorders including lupus erythematosus, dermatomyositis, scleroderma, mixed connective tissue disease, Raynaud’s phenomenon, cutaneous vasculitis, urticaria, dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis and vitiligo.Inheriting a family background in traditional Chinese medicine, he applies integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine to treat connective tissue diseases and other immune‑mediated skin diseases. In recent years, he has presided over 3 National Natural Science Foundation projects and multiple provincial‑ministerial research projects focusing on connective tissue diseases. He has supervised 12 master’s students and 14 doctoral students. His main research interest lies in autoimmune dermatoses, especially connective tissue diseases. He has carried out in‑depth studies on lupus erythematosus, systemic scleroderma, localized scleroderma (morphea), and Raynaud’s phenomenon associated with connective tissue diseases. As the first author or corresponding author, he has published 84 professional papers, among which 30 are SCI‑indexed. He authored the chapters on connective tissue diseases in *Yang Guoliang’s Dermatology*, *Chinese Clinical Dermatology* (edited by Zhao Bian), and the textbook *Dermatology*, as well as chapters on medications for dermatitis and eczema and topical glucocorticoids in *Chinese National Formulary*. He served as associate chief translator for two editions of *Dermatology* edited by Bolognia J L et al., and took charge of translating the chapter “Rheumatic Diseases”. In 2009, he edited and published *Atlas and Essentials of Diagnosis and Treatment of Cutaneous Manifestations of Connective Tissue Diseases*. In 2017, he edited and published *Diagnosis and Treatment of Connective Tissue Diseases in Dermatology*, a book highlighting dermatological approaches to connective‑tissue‑disease management.
