Specialized in the early diagnosis and treatment of early gastrointestinal cancers, magnifying endoscopy diagnosis, endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) and EUS‑guided interventional therapy, endoscopic resection (including ESD, ESE, EFTR, etc.), and tunnel endoscopy techniques (including POEM, STER, etc.). He is also committed to various endoscopy‑related training and the research and development of endoscopic auxiliary devices.He has visited and conducted academic exchanges in Japan, Germany, the United States and other countries. He served as a Visiting Professor at the University of Iowa and was a participant in the Harvard Global Clinical Scholars Program. He is a recipient of the Shanghai "Medical Rising Star" Young Medical Talent award. He presides over one Youth Project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and three research projects at other levels. He has published more than 30 papers, of which over 20 are indexed in SCI. He holds 2 invention patents and 3 utility model patents. He is the chief editor of one Chinese monograph, associate editor of one English monograph, and a contributing author for five English monographs and nine Chinese monographs. His honours include the Second‑Class National Award for Science and Technology Progress, the First‑Class Award for Science and Technology Progress of the Ministry of Education, the First‑Class Huaxia Medical Science and Technology Award, the First‑Class Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award, and the First‑Class Shanghai Medical Science and Technology Award, among other provincial‑ and national‑level distinctions.
