Specializes in endoscopic minimally‑sized diagnosis and treatment of early gastrointestinal cancers and submucosal tumors, ERCP‑based diagnosis and management of biliary and pancreatic diseases, POEM for achalasia cardia, and endoscopic therapy for gastrointestinal strictures.

Has presided over 15 vertical research projects including those funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. As the first or corresponding author, has published 56 SCI papers with a total impact factor of over 520, more than 2200 citations and an H‑index of 28. Has filed 25 patents, among which 14 have been transferred for commercialization. Has been awarded such honours as Shanghai Top‑Tier Young Talents, Shanghai Rising‑Star of Science and Technology, Shanghai Outstanding Young Medical Talent, Shanghai Outstanding Young Talent in Health System, and Chenguang Scholar of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission. Received the Shanghai May 4th Youth Medal (Individual), Wu Mengchao Medical Youth Fund Award, and Fudan University Top‑Ten Medical Worker. As a key contributor, won the Second‑Class National Science and Technology Progress Award, Second‑Class Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award, and First‑Class Shanghai Medical Science and Technology Award.
