Specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases, liver diseases and early gastrointestinal cancers. He serves as Deputy Director of the Department of Gastroenterology and Endoscopy Center, Director of the Internal Medicine Teaching and Research Section, and Director of the Clinical Skills Training Center.He has presided over multiple major research projects funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, Shanghai Science and Technology Commission and Shanghai Health Commission. As the corresponding author, he has published more than 200 papers, of which over 60 are SCI‑indexed papers, and edited more than 10 textbooks. He has received honors including the Second‑Class National Award for Science and Technology Progress, the Third‑Class Shanghai Science and Technology Award, the First‑Class Shanghai Medical Science and Technology Award, and the First‑Class Shanghai Teaching Achievement Award. He has supervised over 40 doctoral and postgraduate students.
