He has extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of various urological diseases, including renal cell carcinoma, prostate cancer, bladder cancer, adrenal tumors, and complex urinary tract stones. As one of the first domestic experts to perform Da Vinci robotic laparoscopic urological surgeries, he has led his team to complete more than 7,000 robotic operations in total. He has developed and implemented a key technical and evaluation system for precise minimally invasive surgery centered on three core principles: "thorough oncological radical resection, effective complication control, and priority of functional preservation".

He has performed numerous highly‑difficult and complex operations. He pioneered the single‑port robotic suprapubic transvesical radical prostatectomy. He boasts outstanding expertise in core techniques such as robot‑assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy with urinary continence and neurovascular bundle preservation, nephron‑sparing surgery for renal cell carcinoma, radical cystectomy, and minimally invasive percutaneous nephrolithotomy.Appointed by the Ministry of Health, he once participated in the medical treatment of children suffering from melamine‑induced urinary stones as a special expert. He has supervised 40 doctoral students. He has presided over 5 General Programs of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, holds 22 patents, and has undertaken more than 100 registration clinical trials for new drugs and medical devices. As the corresponding or first author, he has published 122 SCI papers with a total impact factor of 596 points, among which 17 papers have an IF above 10, 13 are in CAS Q1 zone and 29 in CAS Q2 zone. He established a precise minimally invasive diagnosis and treatment system for renal cell carcinoma and was awarded the Second‑Class Prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award. He has also received the Shanghai Excellent Invention Selection Award, Shanghai Outstanding Specialist Physician Award, and the title of Outstanding Doctor of Fudan University.
