Specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of chronic airway diseases (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, chronic bronchitis, asthma, bronchiectasis, chronic cough, allergic rhinitis), interstitial lung diseases (interstitial pneumonia, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary fibrosis, connective tissue‑disease‑associated lung disease, sarcoidosis, pulmonary vasculitis, eosinophilic pneumonia), pulmonary opacities (pulmonary masses and nodular opacities), and complex pulmonary disorders.As a principal investigator, he has undertaken 4 projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. As the lead and key member from Zhongshan Hospital, he has participated in 2 National Key R&D Program projects on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology. He has also completed one research project each from the Shanghai Science and Technology Commission and the Shanghai Health and Family Planning Commission. He was selected for the Young Backbone Talent Program of Zhongshan Hospital. He has published more than 70 academic papers in Chinese and English, including over 40 SCI papers with a cumulative impact factor of 135. He is the chief editor of an English monograph on asthma omics entitled *Genomic Approach to Asthma*. He holds 1 national authorized utility model patent and has filed 2 national invention patents. He has been awarded the Second‑class Prize of Shanghai Medical Science and Technology Award and the Third‑class Prize of Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award.
