He has presided over and participated in major projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology, National Natural Science Foundation of China, Shanghai Shenkang Hospital Development Center clinical research projects, emergency projects of the Shanghai Science and Technology Commission, and hospital‑level clinical research projects. He has published several papers with a total impact factor of approximately 40. He has delivered oral presentations at top‑tier international conferences on multiple occasions, including the European Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ECCMID) and the International Conference on Clinical Metagenomics (ICCMG).

His expertise covers the diagnosis and treatment of nontuberculous mycobacterial infections, infections complicated with bronchiectasis, and intractable chronic infections, as well as molecular bacterial diagnosis and interpretation of gene sequencing results.

During the COVID‑19 pandemic, he provided support and guidance for pathogen sequencing testing of COVID‑19 patients at the Shanghai Center for Disease Control and Prevention. He is the chief translator of the authoritative international clinical microbiology work *Bailey & Scott’s Diagnostic Microbiology*, and a contributing translator of the classic international infectious‑disease work *Harrison’s Infectious Diseases*. He has also participated in compiling *Training in Diagnostic and Therapeutic Competence for Bacterial and Fungal Infections — Case Analysis and Clinical Thinking*, *Zhongshan Infectious Disease Case Files of Shanghai — Clinical Thinking for Difficult Cases*, and *Clinical Thinking in Internal Medicine*. In addition, he took part in drafting the evidence‑based guidelines for intra‑abdominal infections.
