MD, Professor, Chief Physician and Master’s Supervisor at Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University. He currently serves as Director of the Infection Control Department and Executive Director of the Infectious Diseases Department at Zhongshan‑Xiamen Hospital, Fudan University. He graduated from the Department of Medicine of the former Shanghai Medical University in July 1993 and obtained his Doctoral Degree in Internal Medicine from Fudan University in 2001. He was a visiting scholar at the University of California, San Francisco. In 2010, he attended tobacco‑control training programs at the University of Hong Kong and University College London respectively. He engaged in clinical practice and scientific research of respiratory diseases for 22 years, and has been working on clinical and research work of infectious diseases since August 2015.

He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of various pulmonary infectious diseases (bacterial, fungal, tuberculous, etc.), including pneumonia, pulmonary nodules, pulmonary fungal diseases (cryptococcosis, aspergillosis), pulmonary lesions of unknown etiology, fever of unknown origin, sepsis, endocarditis, intra‑abdominal infection, diverse skin and soft‑tissue infections, pulmonary tuberculosis and extrapulmonary tuberculosis (lymph node tuberculosis, bone tuberculosis, abdominal tuberculosis, etc.), infections secondary to malignancy or surgery, as well as various suspected bacterial or fungal infectious disorders.

He has presided over research projects funded by the Shanghai Municipal Health and Family Planning Commission, CMB‑Fudan University grants and the Zhongshan Youth Fund. He has participated in multiple research projects sponsored by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Shanghai Science and Technology Commission. As a team member, he has won the Science and Technology Progress Award issued by the Ministry of Education, the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government and the Shanghai Science and Technology Commission. In 2010, he was awarded the 2009 Best Tobacco‑Control Support Award by the Respiratory Disease Society of the Shanghai Branch of the Chinese Medical Association. As a team leader, he received the First Prize for the 2011 Tobacco‑Control Guardian Group awarded by the Chinese Medical Doctor Association in 2011 and 2012. One of his students was honored as an Outstanding Graduate of Fudan University in 2012. He has published 38 academic papers as the first or corresponding author in English journals and Chinese core journals, and 73 papers as a co‑author. He is co‑editor‑in‑chief of *Training in Diagnostic and Therapeutic Competence for Bacterial and Fungal Infections‑Case Analysis and Clinical Thinking* and *Zhongshan Infectious Disease Case Files of Shanghai‑Clinical Reasoning for Difficult Cases*. He is the chief translator of the 6th edition of the American textbook *Bennett & Brachman's Hospital Infections*. He has contributed to nearly ten monographs and acted as editorial secretary for the 14th and 15th editions of *Practice of Internal Medicine*.
