Doctor of Medicine, Chief Physician, and Doctoral Supervisor. Born in Hengyang, Hunan Province in October 1974, he graduated from the Department of Clinical Medicine, Nanjing Medical University in August 1998. He obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree through an integrated master-doctor program from Shanghai Medical College, Fudan University in May 2006. He has been working in the Department of Liver Surgery, Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University since June 2006.

He has long been engaged in clinical practice and applied basic research on liver cancer surgery. Every year, he independently performs nearly 300 liver resections and more than 50 liver transplant operations. He has carried out dozens of ALPPS procedures for massive liver cancer that cannot be resected by conventional surgery.

Entrusted by the National Health Commission in 2017, 2019 and 2022, he served as the Secretary-General of the Expert Writing Committee to compile the Standards/Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Primary Liver Cancer. His research mainly focuses on the molecular mechanisms and intervention of metastasis and recurrence of liver cancer. In recent years, he has published 23 SCI papers as the first or corresponding author in journals such as Annals of Surgery and Clinical Cancer Research. He has presided over multiple research projects including the National Natural Science Foundation of China, sub-projects of national major special projects, and the Natural Science Foundation of Shanghai. He has received awards such as the Second Class Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award (5th contributor), the First Class Prize of the Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award (5th contributor), and the Meiji Life Science Award.
