He specializes in precision surgery, minimally invasive surgery for hepatobiliary tumors and liver transplantation. He performs nearly 500 hepatobiliary tumor resections annually, including highly challenging operations such as hilar hepatobiliary tumor resection, massive liver cancer resection and portal vein tumor thrombectomy, as well as more than 50 liver transplantations including living donor liver transplantation and liver transplantation using resected discarded livers. He has made key breakthroughs in developing innovative techniques including minimally invasive hepatobiliary tumor resection (laparoscopic and robotic Da Vinci surgery), ALPPS and living donor liver transplantation.

Academically, he explores standardized treatment, MDT model and conversion therapy for hepatobiliary tumors. His research focuses on the inflammatory microenvironment and autophagy of hepatobiliary tumors. In recent years, he has published 26 papers as the first or corresponding author in authoritative journals including Cancer Res, Clinical Cancer Res and Autophagy. He currently serves as the chief scientist presiding over 4 national research projects and 5 provincial and ministerial research projects.
