Doctor of Medicine, Chief Physician, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor. Born in Deyang, Sichuan Province in December 1968, he graduated from the Department of Clinical Medicine, Shanghai Medical College (now Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University) in July 1992. In July 1999, he graduated from Shanghai Medical College and obtained his Doctoral Degree in Surgery, with Academician Tang Zhaoyun as his supervisor. He has been working in the Department of Hepatobiliary Tumor and Liver Transplantation Surgery, Zhongshan Hospital Affiliated to Fudan University since July 1992.

Having worked on the frontline of clinical practice for nearly 30 years, he is proficient in a variety of highly difficult liver surgeries and complex perioperative treatments.

His research achievements mainly focus on the safety assessment of liver surgery and the prevention and treatment strategies for metastasis and recurrence of liver cancer. He has published 40 SCI papers as the first author or corresponding author in journals including New Engl J Med, Nature, J Clin Oncol, Clin Cancer Res and Surgery. As the principal investigator, he has undertaken 7 projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and research programs such as the "Shanghai Outstanding Academic Leaders Program". As a major participant, he was awarded the First Class Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award and the Second Class Prize of the Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award.
