Previously conducted postdoctoral research as a visiting scholar at the Firestone Institute for Respiratory Health, McMaster University, Canada. Engaged in clinical, teaching, and research work in respiratory diseases for over 30 years, with in-depth research in respiratory diseases, particularly extensive clinical and research work on asthma, lung cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and critically ill patients, and rich clinical experience in the diagnosis and treatment of difficult and critical cases. Skilled in bronchoscopy techniques and differential diagnosis of imaging; pioneered in China the application and reporting of clinical research on gold vapor laser and argon laser via bronchoscopy in the diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer, as well as research on asthma and bone marrow response; pioneered the construction of an early warning model for early diagnosis of COPD. As principal investigator, undertook and completed multiple projects including National Natural Science Foundation projects, National Eleventh Five-Year and Twelfth Five-Year Plan subtopics, 863 subtopics, Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission projects, and global multicenter clinical trials of new drugs. Trained dozens of master's and doctoral students. Published over 300 academic papers, including dozens in SCI journals. Chief editor of 7 monographs, associate chief editor of 4, and contributed to more than 30 monographs and textbooks; received multiple awards for scientific research and patents. Also received the "Endoscopy Outstanding Award" from the Ministry of Health, the "Chinese Respiratory Physician Award" from the Chinese Association of Chest Physicians, the "Contribution Award" for outstanding contributions in the respiratory field from the Respiratory Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, and multiple awards from the Ministry of Health, Shanghai Municipality, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine.
