Chief Physician, Professor, Doctoral Supervisor. Deputy Director of the First Department of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery, Peking University School of Clinical Oncology, and Deputy Director of the National Drug Clinical Trial Institution. From 2009 to 2010, he worked at the University Hospital, Technical University of Munich in Germany, specializing in research on neural invasion in pancreatic cancer and pancreatitis. He secured research grants and published numerous high‑quality English SCI papers. He preliminarily elucidated and explored the mechanisms underlying neural invasion in pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer, as well as the facilitating effects of neurotrophic factors on tumour invasion and metastasis. He further investigated regulatory mechanisms through up‑regulation and inhibition experiments. His work provided valuable research data for studying the correlation between pancreatitis, pancreatic cancer and pain, as well as for reducing metastasis and recurrence of pancreatic cancer, representing an internationally advanced level. After returning to China, he has mainly engaged in basic and clinical research on colorectal liver metastasis. He has received funding from the General Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. His ongoing research includes constructing the molecular genetic profile of Chinese colorectal cancer patients with liver metastasis, which provides data support to assist clinicians in precise stratification, prognostic assessment and individualized treatment for such patients. His team performs 800 surgical procedures for colorectal liver metastasis annually, reaching an internationally leading standard, and actively promotes standardized diagnosis and treatment of colorectal liver metastasis. He has delivered national and regional lecture tours organized by institutions including the Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology (CSCO), and has won top awards in multiple national MDT competitions for colorectal liver metastasis. Attaching great importance to both basic and clinical research, he has been awarded the General Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the General Program of Beijing Natural Science Foundation, the Capital Development Fund and the Capital Characteristic Fund. He has published more than 60 relevant papers in prestigious journals including Cancer Discov, Gut, Annals of Surgery, Aliment Pharmacol Ther and Am J Physiol Gastrointest Liver Physiol, with a cumulative impact factor of 300. He was named one of the Top Ten Medical Pioneer Experts in the 2021 selection by Physician News.
