Director of the First Department of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery at Peking University Cancer Hospital, Chief Physician, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor, he is a renowned domestic expert in hepatobiliary‑pancreatic tumor surgery. He has accumulated experience in more than 10,000 hepatectomy procedures and is capable of performing highly challenging resections for liver cancer, hilar cholangiocarcinoma and pancreatic cancer. He has accomplished numerous pioneering works and attained profound expertise in comprehensive and surgical treatments for colorectal cancer liver metastasis, primary liver cancer, as well as biliary and pancreatic tumors, with particularly outstanding achievements in the treatment of colorectal cancer liver metastasis. He actively promotes individualized and standardized treatment for hepatobiliary‑pancreatic tumors in China, and has spearheaded a large number of basic translational and prospective clinical studies. As the first or corresponding author, he has published over 200 SCI papers, whose findings have been widely recognized by peers at home and abroad. As the principal investigator, he undertakes key projects including the National Major Scientific Research Program, National Natural Science Foundation of China and Beijing Natural Science Foundation, and holds multiple national invention patents.
