Specialties: A renowned domestic expert in gastrointestinal surgery, he has long been engaged in clinical and translational research on gastrointestinal tumors. He is committed to the application of Da Vinci and laparoscopic minimally‑invasive techniques for digestive tract tumor treatment, boasting extensive clinical experience and superb surgical skills. He pioneered laparoscopic minimally‑invasive radical surgery for gastrointestinal tumors in domestic cancer‑specialized hospitals and established the nation’s first Minimally‑Invasive Gastrointestinal Tumor Center within a cancer‑specialized hospital.

He is currently a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS). He received the Mentor‑Friend Award from Peking University Health Science Center in 2016 and the Golden Lancet Award in 2020. He is a recipient of the Special Government Allowance from the State Council.

Professor Su Xiangqian focuses on clinical and basic translational research of gastrointestinal tumors. He has led and participated in multiple domestic and international multicenter randomized controlled clinical trials concerning laparoscopic and robot‑assisted surgery for gastric and colorectal cancers, including the ADDICT trial, CLASS series trials, RELARC trial, LASRE trial, RESOLVE series trials, LISH trial and others. His research findings have been published in top‑tier international medical journals such as *JAMA Surgery*, *JAMA Oncology*, *Lancet Oncology*, and *Journal of Clinical Oncology*, and have been incorporated into multiple clinical diagnosis and treatment guidelines. Centering on the molecular mechanisms underlying gastrointestinal tumorigenesis as well as the identification and clinical significance of molecular biomarkers, he has obtained successive grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He currently oversees 13 ongoing research projects, among which 6 are national‑level and 7 are provincial‑ministerial‑level. In recent years, he has published more than 70 papers in domestic and international academic journals, authored 3 academic monographs, and supervised over 20 master’s and doctoral students.
