He has long been committed to the development and innovation of the precise diagnosis and treatment system for colorectal cancer, and possesses extensive experience in low‑position sphincter‑preserving surgery for rectal cancer, comprehensive treatment of recurrent and metastatic tumors, and construction of whole‑process patient care systems. He has made outstanding contributions particularly in rectal cancer organ preservation and individualized neoadjuvant therapy.Representative Achievements: He has undertaken projects including the National Natural Science Foundation of China, sub‑projects of the National Key R&D Program, Beijing Nova Program, Beijing Key Medical Specialty Development Program (Yangfan Key Project) and Beijing Dengfeng Talent Program. In recent years, he has published more than 100 papers in domestic and international journals such as JAMA Surgery, Annals of Surgery, Cancer Cell, Science Translational Medicine, Diseases of Colon & Rectum, Chinese Medical Journal and Chinese Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery. He has presided over or participated in formulating more than 20 expert consensuses in this field. He served as Secretary‑General of the National Gastric Cancer Academic Conference (2013‑2016) and Secretary‑General of the 12th International Gastric Cancer Congress (2017). He was awarded the Third Prize of Beijing Science and Technology Progress Award and the Second Prize of Huaxia Medical Science and Technology Award.
