Medical career: Graduated from the First Military Medical University in 1985. He was admitted to Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Sciences for a combined master's and doctoral program in 1988, and obtained his Doctoral degree in Microsurgery and Plastic Surgery in 1993. He studied in Japan for one year in 2003.

Research achievements: He has published 72 papers, among which 34 are first-author papers. He served as editor-in-chief or associate editor for 2 monographs and contributed to 4 monographs. As the first author, he won the Third Prize of Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award and the Third Prize of Military Medical Achievement Award. He participated in research projects that won the Second Prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award, one Second Prize of Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award and two Second Prizes of Military Science and Technology Progress Award. He has undertaken 1 National Natural Science Foundation project, 2 Guangdong Provincial Natural Science Foundation projects, 1 Guangdong Provincial Key Science and Technology Project, 1 Guangzhou Key Science and Technology Project and 2 President's Fund projects. He began to supervise postgraduate students in 1999 and became a doctoral supervisor in 2006. Up to now, he has trained a total of 18 master's and doctoral students.
