Medical Career: Professor and Chief Physician in the Department of Nephrology. He currently serves as an editorial board member of the Chinese Journal of Medical Practice and a peer reviewer for the Chinese Journal of Nephrology. He has fully mastered the diagnosis and treatment techniques for common diseases, frequently-occurring diseases and related disorders in this specialty, and developed expertise in renal biopsy, liver biopsy in dialysis patients, management of critically ill patients, and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT). His main research focus is long-term complications of chronic renal failure, and his research on the mechanism of dialysis-related amyloidosis (DRA) has reached the internationally advanced level.

Research Achievements: He has won 1 Second-Class National Award for Scientific and Technological Progress, 2 First-Class Guangdong Provincial Awards for Scientific and Technological Progress, 1 First-Class Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award and 1 Second-Class Military Award for Scientific and Technological Progress. He presides over a research project funded by the Health Commission of Guangdong Province and a multicenter prospective randomized controlled trial involving eleven centers. He has participated in 1 key military project, 3 National Natural Science Foundation projects, 1 Guangdong Provincial team research project, 1 key project of Guangdong Natural Science Foundation, 2 general projects of Guangdong Natural Science Foundation and 2 research projects funded by the Health Commission of Guangdong Province. He has published more than 30 papers in national and international journals, including original articles in full text in JASN and N Engl J Med. He has written 3 review articles for national core journals and contributed relevant chapters to *Renal Replacement Therapy*, *Nephrology*, and *Emergency Nephrology*.
