Doctor of Medicine, Chief Physician, Director of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, and Person-in-Charge of the Hearing Disorder Diagnosis and Treatment Center. He is mainly engaged in the treatment of hearing disorders, otological diseases, obstructive sleep apnea syndrome, pharyngeal and head and neck tumors, pediatric laryngeal stridor, laryngeal stenosis and difficult airways. He is especially skilled in cochlear implantation surgery, minimally invasive surgeries of the middle ear, adenoids and tonsils, as well as surgical treatment of nasal, sinus, pharyngeal and head and neck tumors. On average, he performs more than 50 minimally invasive cochlear implantation surgeries as the primary operator each year, over 60 surgeries including tympanoplasty, otorhinolaryngologic head and neck tumor and fistula operations, and more than 300 minimally invasive adenoid and tonsil surgeries.
Overseas training experience: He once conducted a two-and-a-half-year visiting research in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at Karolinska Institutet in Sweden, and received advanced training in new technologies for pediatric laryngeal airway diseases in the Department of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at Singapore General Hospital.
Main research directions: Early diagnosis and treatment of congenital deafness in children, minimally invasive surgical techniques for pediatric otorhinolaryngologic head and neck tumors, pediatric endoscopic middle ear minimally invasive techniques, and auditory regeneration research based on neural stem cell technology.
Research projects obtained in recent years: Principal Investigator of the General Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (ongoing); Principal Investigator of the scientific research project of Shanghai Municipal Health Commission (project completed in 2020). He has published more than 20 academic papers, including 5 SCI papers as the first author.
