He has successfully performed pediatric coronary artery bypass grafting for Kawasaki disease, anatomical correction for various cardiomyopathies and heart transplantation. Research achievements: As the first author, he has published 106 academic papers, including 28 SCI-indexed papers and 73 papers in core journals.

He has long been engaged in the surgical diagnosis and treatment of pediatric congenital heart disease, and has performed nearly 10,000 corrective surgeries for congenital heart disease as the primary operator. He received further training in the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Boston Children's Hospital in the United States in 2000 and at the Royal Children's Hospital Melbourne in Australia in 2009. He possesses extensive clinical experience in the surgical treatment of complex congenital heart disease in infants and young children. He has rich experience in surgeries and minimally invasive treatment via small lateral incisions for various simple and complex congenital cardiac malformations, as well as conditions including double outlet right ventricle (DORV), all types of total anomalous pulmonary venous connection (TAPVC), pulmonary atresia (PA), and aortic arch stenosis or interruption (IAA). He is especially adept at one-stage and two-stage biventricular repair for complete and corrected transposition of the great arteries (D-TGA, L-TGA), conversion surgery from functional single ventricle to biventricular circulation for complex malformations, and valvuloplasty for Ebstein's anomaly, with a remarkably high success rate in preserving biventricular function during the procedure.
