As the principal investigator, he has undertaken the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, the National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars, the Youth Project of the National Key Research and Development Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology, General Programs of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, etc. He has been selected as Shanghai Outstanding Academic Leader and Shanghai Young Science and Technology Talent. He won the 2018 San Rafael Prize of Spain (first completer) and the 2019 Shanghai Medical Science and Technology Award for Young Scientists (first completer). In recent years, he has published more than 100 relevant research papers as the corresponding author in high-impact journals including PNAS, Nature Communications, Science Advances, Advanced Materials, Angewandte Chemie International Edition, Chem and Matter.

He specializes in the diagnosis of lung tumors, precise uniportal thoracoscopic resection and robot-assisted complex minimally invasive surgery, as well as surgical treatment for thoracic diseases such as hyperhidrosis, pneumothorax and pulmonary bullae, mediastinal and chest wall tumors. He has long been engaged in clinical and basic research on lung cancer, lung transplantation and biomedical materials.
