He obtained one of the first seven-year program Master's degrees in Surgery under joint training at Shanghai Medical University and a Doctoral degree in Thoracic Surgery from Tongji University. In 2007, he pursued advanced studies in Cardiothoracic Surgery at ICHILOV Hospital in Tel Aviv, Israel. He has published more than 10 papers in journals including Interact Cardiovasc Thorac Surg, J Cardiothorac Surg, Chinese Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, Chinese Journal of Organ Transplantation, Chinese Journal of Experimental Surgery and Chinese Journal of Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases. He has participated in compiling monographs such as Lung Transplantation, Pulmonary Surgery, and Diagnostic Decision-Making for Difficult Thoracic Surgical Diseases.

He specializes in the early diagnosis and surgical treatment of various pulmonary diseases, including lung cancer, pneumothorax and pulmonary bullae, mediastinal tumors, bronchiectasis, chest wall tumors and tuberculosis, empyema, etc. He is skilled in the diagnosis and management of small pulmonary nodules and the application of thoracoscopic minimally invasive surgery, and performs a full range of thoracoscopic lobectomy and segmentectomy. He has expertise in surgical treatment of various pulmonary infectious diseases, as well as highly challenging thoracoscopic management of destroyed lung and tuberculous empyema in thoracic surgery.
