Doctor of Surgery, Chief Physician of the Department of Thoracic Surgery at Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital, Associate Professor of Surgery and Doctoral Supervisor as well as Postdoctoral Co-supervisor at Tongji University. He has long been engaged in clinical and basic research on lung transplantation, and has presided over 6 research grants including the General Program and Youth Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and grants from the Shanghai Science and Technology Commission. His research on surgical treatment of end-stage pulmonary disease won the Second Prize of the Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award in 2012. As the first author or corresponding author, he has published more than 30 academic papers in journals such as J Thorac Cardiovasc Surg, Eur J Cardiothorac Surg, and Annals of surgical oncology. He is a co-author of multiple monographs including *Pulmonary Surgery*, the 2nd and 3rd editions of *Diagnostic Decision-Making in Difficult Thoracic Surgical Diseases*, and *Thoracic Surgery*. From June 2011 to June 2012, he conducted visiting research at Massachusetts General Hospital to study thoracic oncology surgery and tracheal surgery techniques.

With over 20 years of clinical experience in thoracic surgery, he specializes in the application of uniportal thoracoscopic techniques and open surgery for the treatment of early and mid-stage as well as operable locally advanced lung malignancies, benign pulmonary diseases and various mediastinal diseases. He excels in the early diagnosis of lung cancer, diagnosis and management of pulmonary ground-glass nodules and other pulmonary nodules; lung transplantation for end-stage lung disease; and surgical treatment of airway diseases such as tracheal tumors and stenosis.
