Chief Physician of the Department of Thoracic Surgery, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor of Tongji University, Member of the American Association for Thoracic Surgery (AATS), Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS), and an expert listed in the Top 100 Famous Doctors in China for Lung Surgery and Tracheal Surgery. He has presided over more than ten major research projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Shanghai Science and Technology Commission, and Shanghai Shenkang Hospital Development Center, with a total research funding of over 20 million yuan. He has published nearly 500 papers, among which nearly 200 are SCI-indexed. He has authored and translated fifteen monographs on thoracic surgery, and served as associate editor and editorial board member for more than ten thoracic surgery works, including undergraduate and postgraduate textbooks for thoracic surgery and respiratory medicine. He has led or participated in the formulation of multiple international and domestic guidelines and expert consensus statements.

His specialties include surgical treatment of lung cancer, including minimally invasive and comprehensive therapy, especially individualized treatment for multiple primary early-stage lung cancer and locally advanced lung cancer; surgical management of benign and malignant diseases of the trachea, carina and bronchi; lung transplantation; surgical treatment of mediastinal tumors; resection of chest wall tumors and chest wall reconstruction; surgical treatment of refractory infectious diseases such as tuberculosis, empyema and bronchopleural fistula; surgical treatment of esophageal cancer. He possesses extensive experience in the management of difficult and complex thoracic surgical diseases.
