Research Interests: He has long been engaged in research on intraoperative myocardial protection and the mechanism of pulmonary vascular remodeling in pulmonary hypertension, and presided over a number of international cooperation projects. He has received grants from sub-projects of the National Basic Research Program of China (973 Program), National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, High-level Talent Project of Guangdong Provincial Universities, and the 5010 Clinical Research Program of Sun Yat-sen University. With the support of university and hospital leaders and assistance from social charitable organizations, he founded the "Aiji Tongxin" Charitable Fund to subsidize surgical treatment for patients with congenital heart disease in poor areas and impoverished families. He is a recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, one of the 11th Top Ten Outstanding Youths of Guangzhou, an expert enjoying Special Government Allowance of the State Council, and Pearl River Scholar Distinguished Professor of Guangdong Provincial Universities.

Medical Expertise: The professor is a cardiac surgeon working on the front line of clinical practice with rich clinical experience. He performs 150-230 primary surgeries every year, and his clinical treatment outcomes have reached the advanced domestic level. He has excellent medical ethics; there have been no complaints or medical disputes during his 25 years of medical practice. He has profound attainments in coronary artery disease surgery, valve surgery, complex congenital heart disease surgery and great vessel surgery. In particular, he has in-depth research and reputation in various complex congenital heart disease surgeries, highly difficult coronary artery bypass grafting, off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting, resection of large left ventricular aneurysm combined with left ventricular plasty, and modified mitral valve replacement with preservation of subvalvular structures. All consulted highly difficult coronary artery bypass grafting operations have been successfully completed.
