He graduated from the English-taught Clinical Medicine Program of Sun Yat-sen Medical University and has worked at the main campus of the hospital ever since. He received further training in the Neonatal Department at the Medical University of Innsbruck, Austria, and at the University of California, USA. He has led and participated in several provincial and ministerial research projects. As first or corresponding author, he has published more than 20 papers in domestic and international core journals and contributed to five monographs.

He has 31 years of clinical experience in pediatrics and is proficient in managing common pediatric illnesses. He has extensive experience in the resuscitation of critically ill children, especially respiratory and nutritional support for children with sepsis and acute respiratory distress syndrome, as well as the management of severe neurological disorders. He specializes in follow-up care for high-risk infants and the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric neurological and inherited neurological diseases, including tic disorders, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, motor developmental delay, and myasthenia (such as inherited neuromuscular diseases like spinal muscular atrophy and Pompe disease).
