Research Interests

Early intervention of type 2 diabetes mellitus. As co-first author, he published the original article Intense simplified strategy for newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes in patients with severe hyperglycaemia: multicentre, open label, randomised trial in BMJ (2024 IF 93.6), 2024;387:e080122. This study established a new “intensive-simplified” diagnosis and treatment model for type 2 diabetes, and the relevant findings have been cited in the Chinese Guidelines for the Prevention and Treatment of Diabetes Mellitus (2024 Edition).

Clinical Expertise

He has over ten years of experience in clinical practice and research of endocrine and metabolic diseases. He has rich experience in the diagnosis and management of common and difficult endocrine disorders, including early intervention and comprehensive management of diabetes, thyroid diseases (hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, thyroid nodules, thyroiditis), secondary hypertension, adrenal diseases and pituitary diseases. He has extensive practical experience especially in short-term intensive therapy to induce diabetes remission and medication optimization for patients with newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes or inadequate response to oral hypoglycaemic agents, as well as refined management of type 1 diabetes mellitus.
