He obtained his Master’s degree in Clinical Medicine from Sun Yat‑sen University in 2008 and Doctoral degree in Internal Medicine from Sun Yat‑sen University in 2015. Research Profile

His primary research focus is the early intervention of diabetes mellitus. As the first author, he published the original article Intense simplified strategy for newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes in patients with severe hyperglycaemia: multicentre, open label, randomised trial in the British Medical Journal (IF 93.6), 2024; 387: e080122. This work established a novel diagnostic and therapeutic model for type 2 diabetes, which has been cited in the latest Chinese diabetes guidelines. His representative publications appear in renowned journals including the British Medical Journal, J Clin Endocrinol Metab and Diabetes Res Clin Pract. He served as a drafting member for the Expert Consensus on Reversal of Type 2 Diabetes by Short‑term Insulin Intensive Therapy and participated in compiling the Clinical Expert Consensus on Evaluation and Protection of Pancreatic Beta‑cell Function in Type 2 Diabetes.

Clinical Expertise

He has over ten years of experience in clinical practice and research of endocrine and metabolic diseases. He is experienced in early management and comprehensive treatment of diabetes, thyroid diseases (hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, thyroid nodules, thyroiditis), secondary hypertension, adrenal disorders, pituitary disorders and other common and complicated endocrine conditions. He is particularly adept at short‑term intensive therapy to induce diabetes remission and simplify treatment regimens for newly diagnosed patients or those with failure of oral antihyperglycaemic agents.
