Education and Work Experience

He received his bachelor’s degree from the Department of Clinical Medicine, Sun Yat‑sen University of Medical Sciences, and obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree from Sun Yat‑sen University in 2004. He has been working in the Department of Rheumatology and Immunology, the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat‑sen University since 1998. He worked as a visiting scholar at UT Southwestern Medical Center in the United States for two years from 2011 to 2013, and paid a short‑term visiting study at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard University in 2024.

Research Profile

He has presided over and participated in more than 15 national and provincial research projects, and published over 50 papers in domestic and international core journals, including more than ten SCI papers as the first or corresponding author. He has taken part in compiling multiple monographs as associate editor or editorial board member. As an investigator or principal investigator, he has joined more than 20 international multicenter clinical studies focusing on systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and other rheumatic disorders.

Research Interests

He devotes himself to research on the pathogenesis and novel diagnostic and therapeutic approaches for rheumatoid arthritis, idiopathic inflammatory myopathy, systemic lupus erythematosus and vasculitis.

Clinical Expertise

He has nearly 30 years of frontline clinical experience in rheumatology and immunology. He is experienced in common rheumatic diseases, with particular expertise in difficult and severe cases, including refractory rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, idiopathic inflammatory myopathy, systemic vasculitis, ankylosing spondylitis and IgG4‑related disease. He also has rich experience in the management of rheumatic diseases during pregnancy and the peripartum period.
