Education and Work Experience

Lian Fan, Chief Physician, Doctoral Supervisor, Department of Rheumatology and Immunology, the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat‑sen University, Doctor of Medicine. He was a postdoctoral fellow and visiting scholar at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA, USA) and Klinikum rechts der Isar, Technical University of Munich, Germany. He has been awarded the titles of Guangdong “Qian Bai Shi” Talent, Guangdong Outstanding Young Medical Talent, and Yangcheng Outstanding Doctor. He has engaged in clinical practice, research and teaching in rheumatology and immunology for more than 20 years, focusing on both clinical and basic research of rheumatic and immune diseases. He has published dozens of articles in well‑known domestic and international academic journals, presided over multiple national and provincial research projects including projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and contributed to several monographs.

Rheumatic and immune diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, Sjögren’s syndrome, etc.

Clinical Expertise

With over 20 years of clinical experience in rheumatology and immunology, he specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis/spondyloarthritis, psoriatic arthritis, immune‑related arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, Sjögren’s syndrome, connective tissue disease‑associated interstitial pneumonia and other rheumatic and immune disorders.
