Education and Work Experience

MD, Chief Physician, Doctoral Supervisor. He completed his undergraduate studies at the Department of Clinical Medicine, Sun Yat‑sen University of Medical Sciences. He has been working in the Department of Rheumatology and Immunology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat‑sen University ever since graduation, and later obtained his master’s and doctoral degrees from Sun Yat‑sen University. He has served as Chief Physician in the department since 2008.

Research Achievements

He has presided over or participated in 21 national, provincial and ministerial research projects, among which he was the principal investigator for 8 projects. He has published more than 40 articles as first author, co-first author or corresponding author in key domestic and international medical journals, including Inflammation Research, Journal of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, Lupus and International Immunopharmacology. He is the chief editor of the monograph Clinical Diagnosis and Therapeutic Regimens for Endocrine and Rheumatic Diseases, and has participated in compiling medical works such as Differential Diagnosis of Internal Diseases.

Research Interests

Pathogenesis and clinical research of rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, systemic lupus erythematosus and severe and refractory rheumatic diseases.

Clinical Expertise

With over 30 years of clinical experience, he specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of common rheumatic diseases including ankylosing spondylitis, rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, immune-related arthritis, gout, polymyositis/dermatomyositis, systemic sclerosis, Sjögren’s syndrome, systemic vasculitis and Behçet’s disease. He has rich experience in managing severe and complicated cases such as lupus crisis, lupus combined with pulmonary hypertension during pregnancy, connective tissue disease-associated interstitial lung disease, IgG4-related disease and macrophage activation syndrome. He is skilled in the long-term management of chronic conditions such as ankylosing spondylitis, rheumatoid arthritis, and rheumatic disease during pregnancy and the peripartum period.
