Education and Work Experience

Doctoral Supervisor of Sun Yat‑sen University and Guizhou Medical University. He once served as Vice President of Medical Affairs and Director of the Department of Nephrology & Rheumatology and Immunology at the Guizhou Hospital of the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat‑sen University (National Regional Medical Center). He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Medicine from the Department of Clinical Medicine, Sun Yat‑sen University of Medical Sciences in 1994, and his doctoral degree in Nephrology in 2001. He was a visiting scholar at the Division of Nephrology and Center for Clinical Research in Mineral Metabolism, UT Southwestern Medical Center, USA, from 2011 to 2013. He was selected as the Outstanding Young and Middle-aged Physician by Guangzhou Medical Doctor Association and Guangzhou Daily in 2019, and received the “Ye Ren-Gao & Li You-Ji Award for Excellent Clinical Preceptors” from the Ke Lin Foundation in 2018.

Research Profile

He has presided over and participated in 10 research projects including programs from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Natural Science Foundation of Guangdong Province, and Guizhou Science and Technology Achievement Application and Industrialization Program. He has published 21 papers as first or corresponding author in journals such as American Journal of Kidney Disease, Journal of Bone and Mineral Research, Cardiovascular Research, Renal Failure, Chinese Journal of Nephrology and * Chinese Journal of Rheumatology*.

Clinical Expertise

He specializes in the diagnosis and prevention of various types of acute and chronic glomerulonephritis, acute and chronic kidney failure, nephrotic syndrome, systemic lupus erythematosus / lupus nephritis, IgA nephropathy, urinary tract infection, severe acute kidney injury, as well as the management of complications related to peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis.
