He is the Chief Expert and Academic Leader of Gastroenterology, a recipient of the Special Allowance from the State Council. With more than 30 years of clinical practice in gastroenterology, he has extensive experience in the diagnosis and management of digestive diseases. He has presided over numerous research projects including Key Programs of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has published over 500 papers, more than 300 of which are SCI-indexed, and edited more than 10 academic monographs. He has received many research awards such as the First Prize of the Natural Science Award of the Ministry of Education, the Second Prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award of the Ministry of Education, and the Ding Ying Science and Technology Award.
