Education and Work Experience

He is the Director of the Department of Ophthalmology, The First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, Professor, Chief Physician and Doctoral Supervisor, and also Director of Guangdong Provincial Technical Guidance Center for Low Vision Rehabilitation. He obtained his Bachelor of Medicine from Peking University, Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Ophthalmology from Sun Yat-sen University, and was a research scholar at Cornell University, USA. He has been engaged in clinical practice, teaching and research in ophthalmology for more than 20 years.

Research Interests

Corneal and ocular surface diseases, tissue engineering and stem cells, and ocular disorders associated with systemic diseases.

Clinical Expertise

He has extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of corneal diseases, cataract, fundus diseases and lacrimal duct disorders. He specializes in corneal laser refractive surgery and corneal transplantation, phacoemulsification combined with intraocular lens implantation, vitreoretinal surgery and lacrimal duct recanalization.
