Education and Work Experience

He graduated from the seven-year master’s program in Clinical Medicine at Hunan Medical University in 1995 and then worked at the Department of Urology, the Third Xiangya Hospital. In 2000, he pursued his doctoral degree in Urology at The First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University and has stayed at the Department of Organ Transplantation of the hospital after graduation ever since.

He has published more than ten academic papers at home and abroad, presided over two provincial research projects, and co-authored three monographs.

Clinical Expertise

He is proficient in pre-transplant evaluation and post-transplant management for kidney transplantation. He properly identifies surgical indications and manages early and long-term post-transplant complications, with rich experience in the diagnosis and treatment of severe pneumonia after renal transplantation. He focuses on individualized immunosuppressive therapy, emphasizing inter-individual differences in immunosuppression intensity. His strategy reduces the risk of pulmonary and other infections, especially BK virus infection, without elevating the risk of acute rejection. He has achieved favorable outcomes in both elderly and pediatric kidney transplantation. For transplant glomerulopathy, he develops targeted and rational treatment plans according to its underlying causes. He is capable of high-quality cadaveric kidney procurement, donor kidney preparation and allogeneic kidney transplantation, with a low rate of surgical complications.
