He graduated from the Department of Clinical Medicine, Shandong Medical University in 2000. He obtained his master’s degree in 2003 and joined the transplant center afterwards. He was awarded his doctoral degree in 2009. He assisted in performing Asia’s first successful upper abdominal cluster transplantation (14 cases completed to date), liver transplantation for the oldest recipient (76 years old) in Asia, China’s first living-related small bowel transplantation between mother and child, South China’s first adult living extended right-lobe liver transplantation, and the first combined pancreas-kidney transplantation in this center. During his training at Queen Mary Hospital in 2007, he learned surgical techniques and perioperative management of living donor liver transplantation.

Research Achievements

He has presided over or participated in 10 research projects, won 2 awards, co-authored 4 monographs, and published more than 40 papers including 4 SCI articles as first author.

Research Interests

Liver transplantation, hepatobiliary tumors, abdominal multi-organ transplantation and pancreatic transplantation.

Clinical Expertise

He independently performs donor liver procurement and graft preparation, and carries out liver transplantation. As the first assistant, he supports the primary surgeon in complex liver transplantation and combined abdominal organ transplantation. He has participated in over 800 liver transplantations, more than 50 of which he performed as primary surgeon. He has extensive experience in perioperative management of liver transplant recipients and Doppler ultrasound surveillance of graft blood flow. He also has solid experience in pediatric liver transplantation.
