His practice covers liver transplantation, islet transplantation, pancreas transplantation, and hepatobiliary-pancreatic-splenic surgery including minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery. He has performed more than 1,000 liver transplantations, completed the first islet transplantation in South China and has carried out over 40 such procedures, and performed more than 100 pancreas transplantations, keeping a leading position in related fields at home and abroad. He has presided over 14 research projects including 5 National Natural Science Foundation projects, one 863 Program project and one major science and technology special project of Guangzhou. He has published more than 50 SCI-indexed papers and applied for 4 patents.
